ℹ️Info & guidelines
  • No minimum order is required. No setup fees, no art fees.
  • Turnaround: order by 2pm EST for next-day production, otherwise 2 business days.
  • We ship across Canada — flat $9.99 shipping or $7.99 pickup at our Calgary HQ.
  • Accepted formats: PNG, PDF, or EPS. No JPEG, TIFF, or PSD.
  • Minimum 300 DPI at the final print size — higher is better. Vector PDF/EPS scales cleanly.

    • Mention the size of design files by width and height — the design should match the artboard with no extra empty space.
    • There are no transparent pixels you don't want printed.
  • Maximum printable width is 22" — length can be anything you need.
  • The minimum order charge is $15.00 CAD per order.
  • If you need multiple files printed and shipped together, place them in the same order — one shipping charge.
  • Important: if your file doesn't match the size you ask for, we'll print it at the width you set. We do not modify your artwork. Read the artwork policy →
  • Need a design adjusted before we print? Email info@blankgarment.ca before placing the order.

Application instructions, garment compatibility, FAQ, and our DTF policy — all in one place.

Heat-press settings

Temperature310°F (155°C). Drop to 290°F on 100% polyester.
Time (first press)12–15 seconds
PressureMedium-firm — about 40 PSI. You should feel real resistance closing the press.
PeelCold peel. Wait 30+ seconds after opening before peeling the carrier film.
Second pressRequired. 5–10 seconds with parchment or Teflon over the design.

Step-by-step

  1. Pre-press the empty garment for 5–7 seconds at ~300°F to remove moisture and wrinkles.
  2. Lay the DTF film ink-side-down on the garment and align it carefully — the film will not slide once heat is applied.
  3. Close the press at 310°F (155°C) for 12–15 seconds with medium-firm pressure (~40 PSI).
  4. Open the press and let the film cool for at least 30 seconds — DTF is a cold peel.
  5. Peel the carrier film slowly and steadily. If a corner resists, close the press for another 10 seconds and wait again before peeling.
  6. Cover the design with parchment paper or a Teflon sheet and press a second time for 5–10 seconds. This locks in wash durability.
  7. Let the garment cool fully (5+ minutes) before folding, packing, or wearing.

No heat press? Use a household iron

It works, but durability is lower than a heat press — best for one-off events and personal use.

  • Set the iron to the cotton setting. Turn steam off.
  • Place a sheet of parchment paper over the film.
  • Press hard, one section at a time, for 15–20 seconds each. Do not slide — press, lift, move, press again.
  • Let it cool fully, then peel the carrier slowly.
  • Cover with parchment again and re-press the whole design for another 15 seconds.

Common mistakes

MistakeFix
Peeling while the film is still warmWait 30+ seconds for it to cool. DTF is a cold peel.
Not pre-pressing the garmentMoisture turns to steam under the film and ruins the bond. Always pre-press.
Skipping the second pressThe post-press is what gives the transfer 50+ wash durability. Do not skip it.
Light or uneven pressureUse medium-firm pressure. You should feel real resistance closing the press.
Pressing over a seam, zipper, or pocketUse a press pillow to lift the area flat so contact is even.
Fabric-softener residue on a new garmentSofteners coat fibers and block adhesion. Wash once in plain water before pressing.
Pressing 100% polyester at 320°F+Drop to 280–300°F to prevent scorching and dye migration.
