Application instructions, garment compatibility, FAQ, and our DTF policy — all in one place.
| Temperature | 310°F (155°C). Drop to 290°F on 100% polyester. |
|---|---|
| Time (first press) | 12–15 seconds |
| Pressure | Medium-firm — about 40 PSI. You should feel real resistance closing the press. |
| Peel | Cold peel. Wait 30+ seconds after opening before peeling the carrier film. |
| Second press | Required. 5–10 seconds with parchment or Teflon over the design. |
It works, but durability is lower than a heat press — best for one-off events and personal use.
| Mistake | Fix |
|---|---|
| Peeling while the film is still warm | Wait 30+ seconds for it to cool. DTF is a cold peel. |
| Not pre-pressing the garment | Moisture turns to steam under the film and ruins the bond. Always pre-press. |
| Skipping the second press | The post-press is what gives the transfer 50+ wash durability. Do not skip it. |
| Light or uneven pressure | Use medium-firm pressure. You should feel real resistance closing the press. |
| Pressing over a seam, zipper, or pocket | Use a press pillow to lift the area flat so contact is even. |
| Fabric-softener residue on a new garment | Softeners coat fibers and block adhesion. Wash once in plain water before pressing. |
| Pressing 100% polyester at 320°F+ | Drop to 280–300°F to prevent scorching and dye migration. |
